Natural Lung Cleanse and Detoxification - Lotus Root and Other Tips and Remedies

Wish to learn how to carry out a natural lung cleanse and detoxification?

Although the majority of people who smoke know that smoking can cause health risks within the respiratory system, many people are unaware that other problems such as peptic ulcers and ulcerative colitis are also linked to this habit.

Even those individuals that do not smoke can have problems with their lungs, most commonly caused from eating a lot of dairy foods. Excess mucus can develop, as can excess fat, which can lead to issues such as asthma attacks.

For smokers and non-smokers alike, a lung cleanse can be a beneficial way of removing toxic chemicals from the lungs, substances which could be causing respiratory and other problems.

Natural lung cleanses can be carried out by drinking a tea or herbal liquid, inhaling an infusion, or by using a paste on the lung area. The cleanses generally take around 7 days to complete.

Lotus Root - Useful Herbal Remedy for the Lungs

Lotus root is an herb commonly used for lung detoxification. It can help control mucus production as well as treat asthma and other respiratory problems.

Lotus root tea can be purchased at a variety of health food stores. Lotus root powder can be purchased and 1 teaspoon can be added to a small cup of water and boiled in order to make the tea.

You can also use fresh lotus root in order to make your own tea. You can do this by grating a 2 inch piece of fresh lotus root and squeezing out the juice through a cheesecloth. Add a couple of drops of ginger juice and a pinch of salt, and add this mixture to a cup of water. Boil into a tea and consume.

A plaster can be made from lotus root as well. This can help dissolve mucus in your sinuses and bronchi. Fresh lotus root, water, grated ginger, white flour, and 2 cotton cloths are needed for this.

Grate the lotus root and then mix the root with grated ginger and white flour. Add in just enough water to make a paste, and then spread the paste on one of the cloths so that it is about 1/2 inch thick.

Apply this cloth to your lung area and keep it in place by placing the other cloth on top of it. As an alternative, a sheet can be used instead of the second piece of cloth. Keep the paste on for several hours. This should be repeated for 7 to 21 days.

As you can see, lotus root can be useful in a number of ways in assisting lung cleansing and detoxification.

When you first begin a lung cleanse, you will probably notice an increase in coughing, and possibly sneezing, as your body eliminates the excess mucus. However, after a short time period, your breathing should improve substantially.

Other Tips and Natural Remedies for Lung Detox

There are also many supplements sold at natural health food stores that promote lung cleanse as well. The Lung Rejuvenator is a popular formula that is made from natural and organic herbal ingredients. It is meant to help in detoxifying and cleansing your lungs naturally, improving oxygen assimilation, and expelling mucus.

Some of the ingredients that it contains include licorice root, mullein leaf, ginger root, black peppercorns, wild American ginseng root, and lobelia, amongst others.

In addition to the natural lung cleanse remedies mentioned, it is also suggested that individuals avoid air pollution, practice proper breathing techniques, avoid consuming too much dairy, and to, of course, stop smoking, in order to get the best health for their lungs.
