DISCUSSION ON HOLISTIC REMEDIES AND THERAPIES

Throughout various health modalities, there are some of what I term "holistic remedies". What do I mean?
Unlike specific natural health remedies, which target certain parts of the body or certain health conditions, I see holistic cures and remedies as health and healing arts, traditions and modalities which seek to bring balance and restoration to the entire body.
Some of them help to improve blood circulation throughout the body. Some of them help to release stress. Some of them improve 'energy flow' to different parts of the body. Some of them help to detoxify the body. Some of them strengthen the immune system. Some of them improve moods. Some of them improve the health and function of various organ systems in the body. The list goes on.
Basically, these holistic remedies work on the body as a whole. Thus, more often than not, they can be used to target many different health conditions and ailments, and can also bring health and vitality to the whole person.
Of course, it is impossible to perfectly compartmentalize "specific natural health remedies" (for specific health conditions, for example high cholesterol, or hypertension), and "holistic remedies". The truth is, all specific remedies are, to some extent, also holistic in nature, while the various holistic cures and remedies also, to some extent, treat and heal certain specific parts of the body.
Often, a particular holistic therapy may be used as part of a specific remedy. For example, while I classify acupuncture as a holistic therapy, it is sometimes used as part of specific natural health remedies for certain conditions. Thus, this is just a broad classification.
Using Holistic Remedies correctly and effectively
Many of the holistic cures and remedies highlighted in this section are time-tested and established modalities. On their own, they are powerful healing protocols.
However, to attain true and deep good health, it would almost always be necessary to make a holistic change to one's dietary and lifestyle choices. A good foundation would be to follow the good health habits suggested on this website. Following these steps to good health would also strengthen the effectiveness of the holistic remedies and cures mentioned in this section.
