A note about Basic Chiropractic Information and Introduction - What Is Chiropractic?
In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.
In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. Taking these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of certain holistic remedies.
Chiropractic care is a form of complementary alternative medicine (CAM), which combines both conventional and alternative medicine in treating various problems.
Chiropractic treatment is based on the correlation between the anatomy (structure) of the spine and its physiology (functioning). The main approach of treatment is through gentle and soft maneuvering or adjustments to the spine and other affected neuro-musculo-skeletal areas in the human body.
By maneuvering and adjusting the spine, chiropractors will fix or set right any misalignment in structure. Once the structure is rectified, chiropractic care believes that the human body has the inherent ability to cure or heal itself.
Chiropractic care is most effective in patients suffering from neck and back pain, headache and other spine problems. More chiropractic information on these ailments are discussed in the other related chiropractic articles.
Chiropractic physicians or doctors of chiropractic (DC) specialize in examining and treating patients by concentrating on both the physiological and biochemical areas.
Chiropractic physicians examine and diagnose patients based on correlation among several aspects of the human body like, structural, neurological, spinal, musculoskeletal, visceral, nutritional, psychological, emotional, and environmental conditions. By assessing various facets to a patients condition, chiropractic physicians initiate appropriate treatment plans and / or refer them to appropriate specialist physicians for further care.
Doctors of Chiropractic (chiropractic physicians or chiropractors) go through extensive academic and clinical training in procedures and protocols through accredited chiropractic colleges and chiropractic institutions. Training in chiropractic includes, but is not limited to, use of highly scientific and modern diagnostic technology and therapeutic procedures.
Chiropractic treatment involves careful adjustment and manipulation of the articulations and adjacent tissues of the human body, particularly of the spinal column.
Chiropractic treatment also includes treatment of intersegmental aberrations for alleviation of related functional disorders.
