More Than 10 Superfoods To Add To Your Diet

There are easily more than 10 superfoods currently known to Man. What are superfoods? They are foods which we have discovered to be nutritionally potent, complete, dense and power-packed, with superb antioxidant, disease preventing, health promoting and even disease reversing properties.

Besides their wonderful nutritional and health giving effects, another great thing about such superfoods is that their nutrients are usually easily absorbed and used by the human body, often within minutes. It's almost like instant nutrition.

Many health-conscious people today already embark on a potent superfoods diet to really reap the excellent health and vitality which it brings.

Typically, the currently known top superfoods fall into the following categories:

  • Buckwheat - high in amino acids and protein
  • Beans and Lentils - good sources of antioxidants and potassium

    You may or may not agree with all of these suggestions, but, in my opinion, his 10 superfoods certainly look like useful additions to anyone's diet. The one exception I may disagree with is perhaps yogurt / kefir, and that very much depends on whether one chooses to consume animal products.


    Why do we need to consume superfoods?

    Well, strictly speaking, if we consume a varied healthy diet containing mainly vegetarian, organic, raw and whole foods, we should be getting more than our fair share of nutrition needed for excellent and vibrant health.     However, due to issues such as soil depletion, the food which we grow today has significantly less nutrients than it once did one or two hundred years ago. It is thus a good idea to supplement our nutritional needs with superfoods.

    Further, the use of superfoods can really supercharge your health and bring it to a new level altogether, a level which is very difficult to obtain using 'normal' foods alone.
