Atherosclerosis Disease - Causes, Prevention, Home Remedies

What is atherosclerosis disease?

When you hear that somebody is suffering from a “hardening of the arteries”, you may not be sure quite what to make of it, but you probably know it’s not a good situation.

For those who are diagnosed with atherosclerosis, it can present a scary outlook, and with good reason. In this disease, there is a buildup of fatty substances, cholesterol, calcium, and waste that gather within the walls of the arteries. This condition often comes with aging and though it can be prevented through proper exercise and diet, and the avoidance of triggers such as tobacco and caffeine, it is quite common today. All of the substances build up to form a plaque within the artery itself, and this can affect blood flow over time, making for a scary fate if not treated.

A note about Anti Atherosclerosis Diet and Lifestyle - Useful Foods, Nutrition and Habits

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

Dealing with Prevention and Lifestyle Changes

Of course, with any condition or disease such as atherosclerosis, prevention is key. Living a healthy lifestyle that includes regular exercise, a healthy diet full of all the right nutrients and food choices, and the avoidance of substances such as alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine, is the very best way to prevent such a condition from developing.

Oftentimes, people who suffer from high cholesterol may find themselves in a situation where this condition then develops into atherosclerosis disease. This condition can be prevented if you live a healthy lifestyle, but often people do not realize it or change their ways until they have been diagnosed with the disease.

Even if somebody has been diagnosed with atherosclerosis disease, they may be in an early stage and told that some lifestyle changes will help to significantly reduce the impact of this condition. If you lead a sedentary lifestyle before being diagnosed with this condition, you may just find that regular exercise helps quite a bit. If you were eating processed or sodium-rich foods before, then making some very necessary adjustments to your diet can be a true lifesaver. It’s never too late to make a difference in your health, and that holds especially true for atherosclerosis.

Home Remedies that Work Wonders

There are some very simple natural cures that can work wonders in lessening the effects of atherosclerosis disease within the body. Something as simple as taking a teaspoon of honey and lemon juice can be an easy and effective aid and home remedy.

Taking one grated lemon peel and adding it to warm water to soak overnight can make a powerful concoction in dealing with atherosclerosis. This can be taken on its own as a drink, or can be added to food as an excellent home remedy for atherosclerosis.

As high cholesterol is very often associated with atherosclerosis disease, it’s imperative to bring down the cholesterol levels. By including garlic and onion in your diet, you will see some dramatic changes. Whether you eat raw garlic cloves and onion, mix them with food, or take garlic pills, you will see that through time these will help to lower your cholesterol and in turn lessen the effects of atherosclerosis - a truly miraculous natural cure and a tasty one at that!

Sometimes, the old wives’ tales have something to them, as it is said that eating rye bread made with baker’s yeast can help to lessen the clogging of the arteries that atherosclerosis creates. Remember certain foods such as spinach and carrots, particularly as a juice, have properties which automatically lower cholesterol, and these can make for some delicious and highly effective home remedies.
