A note about Pregnancy Fatigue - Facts and Remedies

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

Unless you do have underlying health conditions or issues that are coming out, there is no reason to feel overwhelmingly tired, so the good news is that with some care, this doesn't have to be an issue for you.

Here are some of the things and remedies you should know about battling pregnancy fatigue.

The Timing of the Fatigue

For the most part, most women will experience the greatest level of fatigue during the first trimester of the pregnancy. This is when the baby is growing incredibly rapidly and when you're going to really notice big changes taking place.

The hormonal levels in your body at this point are also going to be fluctuating quite heavily, and that's another big reason for the pregnancy fatigue you are having.

Duration of the Fatigue

The second thing many women wonder about is how long the pregnancy fatigue they are experiencing will last. This again will vary depending on the individual, with some people suffering to a much larger extent than others. Typically, though, you'll notice that by the time you reach the second trimester, you're starting to feel much more like your usual self again.

Then you typically will feel well up until you are at about month seven, at which point most women again start to notice some fatigue. If you make an effort to really eat right and sleep well during the pregnancy, you should find that the fatigue is much more manageable as well.

Foods to Focus On

As just mentioned, one of the best ways to fight pregnancy fatigue is by eating the right foods. Keep in mind that while pregnant, your body is going to need an additional 300 or so calories over and above basic needs, in order to supply the energy needed for pregnancy.

In addition, you want to focus your calories around sources of whole grains, fruits, vegetables, as well as lean proteins, to promote vibrant health both for yourself and your growing baby.

Enjoy Light Exercise

Finally, the last way to fight pregnancy fatigue is to be sure you do get in some light exercise. You may find it hard to work up the motivation to start exercising, but once you do, you will be more than happy you did.

Over time, as you regularly include exercise as part of your day, you will definitely find that it helps you manage the tired feelings you're experiencing. Exercise will also help to regulate weight gain, to help it stay within the healthy range.

Conclusion

So keep these points in mind. If you approach your pregnancy with the right techniques, you can feel your best and not have to deal with the pregnancy tiredness that many women experience to quite a large extent.
