What is Crohn's disease?

Crohn's disease is a chronic disease that affects an individual's intestines and causes ulcerations of both the small and large intestine. In most cases, it affects the digestive system all the way from the mouth to the anus.

Crohn's disease is commonly seen in some parts of the gastrointestinal tract and the lower parts of the ileum. This disease is related to ulcerative colitis. Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is the term used to describe both Crohn's and ulcerative colitis.
