Point to note - lobelia, when taken in excess, can also cause one to throw up. If a teaspoonful causes nausea, cut back on the dosage at first.

It is also said that the leaves and flowers of the lobelia plant, too, have powerful antispasmodic effects on the lungs when they are smoked.
