Asthma Herbal TreatmentBefore you read this article on using an asthma herbal treatment, you may first want to read the article on natural asthma remedies, which gives some background on asthma as well as the fundamental steps to take in healing asthma. The following are some useful herbs for asthma which can be used as herbal remedies for asthma symptom relief. Lobelia Lobelia is a powerful anti-spasmodic and is the most powerful herb for relaxing the bronchial tubes and airway during an attack. A quality lobelia tincture is a more powerful anti-spasmodic than any asthma drug. There are several other herbs that will dilate and relax the airways, but lobelia is by far the most powerful. Higher doses of lobelia will induce vomiting from the lungs which can be an intense experience, but will clear some of the sludge that has built up in the lungs.

A note about using an Asthma Herbal TreatmentIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. Cayenne Pepper Cayenne pepper is the most powerful herb for increasing circulation. When taken internally, it increases body-wide circulation. It also blasts circulation into any part of the body that it comes into contact with. All diseases are related to blockages within the body, and asthma is no exception. If you want to eliminate blockage, you will have to start by increasing circulation. For cayenne to be effective, it should be at least 100,000 heat units. The ideal peppers are habeneros, African bird peppers, and the hottest Mexican and Thai peppers which are 200,000+ heat units. Jalapeños rate at around 70,000. Most herbal cayenne supplements in the market today are less than that. Once you get used to it, cayenne should be something that you are taking on a daily basis until you are well. For most chronic conditions, you should be taking 3-6 doses per day. Cayenne is an herb that you cannot take too much of, and it should form a core part of any asthma herbal treatment. One thing – do be careful, for cayenne can literally drive your face red! Asthma herbs and asthma herbal medicine for inhaling Inhaling herbs via a humidifier is one way to deliver herbs to the lungs and airways. As part of an asthma herbal treatment, a humidifier is a cheap and useful tool. The way to use a humidifier is simply to add essential oils or tinctures to the water. Using reverse osmosis or distilled water is ideal. Glass and stainless steel are better materials than plastic when looking for a humidifier, but use whatever you can find. Some great herbs for inhaling are eucalyptus and peppermint. Both help to dilate the airways, and also have an antibacterial effect. Tea tree oil is highly antibacterial as well. You can use the essential oils of all 3 of these herbs. You can also use a peppermint tincture to add to the water. Simply use common sense when finding the correct amount of herb to use. If you can hardly smell the herb, then you are not using enough. If you want a milder batch, use less. If you want it to be stronger, use more. To conserve essential oils, sit directly above the humidifier to inhale the steam, and turn it off when you are not using it.
