Cure for Multiple Sclerosis - Discussion and Options

Though we do not yet have a cure for multiple sclerosis in terms of modern medicine, there are nearly endless options for people who have been diagnosed with MS.

Modern medicine offers many highly effective treatment options for individuals with MS, and should be the first stop, so to speak, when developing a treatment plan for the disease. A note about Cure for Multiple Sclerosis - Discussion and Options

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

The general approach to treating MS has several components. One facet of treatment is usually composed of methods and medications geared at managing acute attacks, and preventing relapse. Another part of modern medicine's answer to MS is treatment geared at actually modifying the disease itself. Furthermore, a component of modern medical treatment for MS is the measures that seek to manage the effects of multiple sclerosis.

It is fairly common for people to seek alternative remedies in trying to find a cure for multiple sclerosis, in addition to the treatments offered through modern medicine. Simple therapeutic measures, such as working to maintain a positive attitude, altering one's diet (such as by trying The Swank Diet), and engaging in more exercise, can be incredibly helpful in healing or controlling the disease.

Though they may not be a cure for multiple sclerosis, per se, other potentially helpful therapy options to explore include:

  • Massage - Massage therapy helps reduce stress and depression in individuals with MS, and some believe it can change the course of the disease. For some people, massage can be dangerous, so be sure to check with your health care practitioner before undertaking this type of therapy.

  • Acupuncture - Some people with MS report acupuncture's ability to relieve pain, muscle spasms, bladder control problems, and even the more emotional features of the disease; it could thus be a cure for multiple sclerosis symptoms, or at least some of them.

  • Evening Primrose Oil (linoleic acid) - Found in sunflower seeds and safflower oil, there is evidence that taking a supplement of linoleic acid may improve MS symptoms.

  • Marijuana - Although fairly controversial, the use of marijuana to mitigate the symptoms of MS is fairly well documented. Many patients report its effectiveness in relieving symptoms such as spasticity and poor muscle control. Doctors do not recommend using this at this time, as it is necessary to know more. Please do not break any laws while trying to cure multiple sclerosis and its symptoms!

  • Yoga

  • Certain supplements are recommended as well. These include
    - Alpha lipoic acid
    - Carnitine
    - Curcumin
    - Fish Oil
    - Flavonoids
    - Ginkgo Biloba
    - Vitamin D
    - Nicotinamide

Diagnosis with a supposedly incurable disease like MS is a life-changing event, and the monumental effect it has on one mentally and physically should not be downplayed. However, making the choice to look at one's life in an objective manner to identify things that could change is an excellent first step.

This is not only an effective way to cope, but it also helps bring one out of the shock that often accompanies diagnosis and into the state of mind that each of us has the power to influence our future health. Making small changes and approaching the disease through multiple types of therapy can significantly reduce its impact on your life and empower you to live your life in a positive way.

MS is a grave degenerative disease. If you are serious about finding a cure for multiple sclerosis and its symptoms, a holistic and comprehensive natural healing approach should be explored. You can learn more on the rest of this website.
