Natural Liver Cleanse - Tips for Detoxification

Some tips for carrying out a natural liver cleanse are described here.

The liver is not only one of the largest organs in the human body, but it is also one of the busiest. The liver carries out over 500 functions, including assisting in digestion, filtering chemicals, storing glucose, distributing nutrients, maintaining blood sugar levels, and removing toxins from the body.

Therefore, when the liver is not functioning properly, many different problems can occur within your body.

Some of the health problems associated with an ill-functioning liver include allergies, acid reflux, constipation, headaches, bloating, asthma, high cholesterol, depression, fatigue, fibromyalgia, and skin disorders.

Natural liver cleanses are one way to help restore the liver and ensure that it is working properly. However, these cleanses should certainly be taken seriously and followed through correctly.

Some people recommend that a colon cleanse and a kidney cleanse should be performed first, in order to ensure that these systems are working properly, before beginning a liver cleanse. A large amount of toxins will be released during a liver cleanse, and your colon and kidneys will have to filter them out. For that reason, making sure that your colon and kidneys are in peak condition is important.

There are a few side effects that you might experience during a natural liver cleanse. These include acne, headaches, nausea, flu-like symptoms, fatigue, joint pain, swollen lymph nodes, weakness, and confusion. However, these should subside after a few days.

There are a variety of herbs that can be used for a natural liver cleanse. Most of these herbs can easily be located at natural health food stores. Dandelion is an immune system booster, as well as an anti-toxin. Milk thistle is also used as an anti-toxin. Licorice root helps neutralize the effects of potent chemical toxins, while turmeric increases the production of bile and helps with gallstones. It is also a powerful antioxidant, as is Yellow Dock, which also helps dissolve fat. These herbs can be used in conjunction with any liver cleansing protocol.

One method of cleansing your liver involves using lemon juice. Adding lemon juice to a glass of water and sipping it throughout the day can help your stomach digest the food that you are eating. It can also help prevent undigested food from entering your bloodstream.

You can also mix the lemon juice with olive oil and Epsom salts and drink this throughout the day for 24 hours.

Ensuring that you consume plenty of purified water throughout the day while carrying out a natural liver cleanse is not only a good way to keep your liver healthy, but to continue flushing toxins out as well. It is important to consume 8 to 10 glasses of water per day. Purified water is generally recommended because it is meant to be the freshest and does not contain any harsh chemicals.
