A note about Treating Pneumonia Naturally - Home Remedies Which Help

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

Garlic

Garlic is a natural substance that can be very useful as an herbal treatment for pneumonia. It can help bring down a temperature as well as help with breathing. Garlic capsules can be taken, or a garlic paste can be made and applied to the chest, which can help with labored breathing.

Fenugreek Tea

Drinking a tea made from fenugreek seeds can help the body get rid of toxins and "sweat out" some of the fever. You can drink up to 4 cups of this tea a day. Some lemon juice can be added to the tea to make it more flavorful. It is helpful not to eat any other food during the time that you are drinking the tea, in order to encourage the fenugreek to work properly in treating pneumonia.

Vegetable Juices

Parsnip juice and other vegetable juices can also be beneficial. Parsnip contains phosphorus and chlorine elements that are therapeutic for pneumonia. Up to 250 ml of parsnip juice can be consumed per day. Do not use the juice that comes from wild parsnip, however, as it can contain some poisonous ingredients.

Combining 200 ml of spinach juice with 300 ml of carrot juice can be useful in treating pneumonia as well. Or, you can also combine 100 ml of beet juice and 100 ml of cucumber juice with 300 ml of carrot juice.

Dietary Tips

When dealing with and treating pneumonia, remember to stick to a clear diet, filled with juices that aren't too sugary, plain vegetables, and clear broth. It is more important to consume liquids than food during a fever, so making sure that you stay hydrated is important.

Other Herbal and Food Remedies

Phlegm can be removed from the bronchial tubes by steeping 15 gm of sesame seeds in 250 ml of water, and mixing the concoction with a tablespoon of linseed and a pinch of salt. The mixture can be flavored with a little bit of honey and taken orally.

Sundew is an herb that can be used as a cough suppressant; it can inhibit the growth of some of the bacteria that can cause pneumonia. You can try looking for it at most health food stores.

Lomatium dissectum is an herb that has been used by American Indians in treating influenza, bronchitis, colds, and asthma, as well as for treating pneumonia. You might be able to find the root at health food stores, and chewing on it could be beneficial.

Conclusion

It is a good idea to remember that pneumonia can cause serious complications, especially as phlegm gets backed up in your lungs and makes it difficult to breathe. For that reason, if it continues even with treatment at home, then it is important to visit your health care practitioner.

However, by using some of the natural remedies mentioned, sticking to a clear diet that revolves around a lot of clear broths and vegetables, and trying to get your fever to stay down, home treatment can still be an effective way to manage pneumonia.
