Cranberry Juice Detox Diets

At some point, you have probably heard that cranberry juice is good for urinary tract infections, kidney infections, and cystitis. However, not many people are using cranberry juice for cleansing and detoxification, in order to benefit their overall health. So how does this work?
Cranberries contain many essential nutrients, such as manganese and vitamins C and K. In addition, they also contain fiber and antioxidants. The antioxidants, along with a substance called Arbutin, are great at helping your body flush out toxins.
With a cranberry juice detox diet, you are supposed to be able to rid various systems of harmful toxins; these include your kidneys, bowels, and lymphatic system. There are also claims that detoxification with cranberry juice can help get marijuana and other recreational drugs out of your system; these claims, however, are not substantiated.
It will take about 2 or 3 weeks on a cranberry juice detox diet for you to see its full effects and benefits. Twice a day, you will need to drink a glass of 100 percent cranberry juice. It is important that it is 100 percent juice and not simply cranberry flavored juice, which might not even contain real cranberries.
The rest of your diet should include brown rice, fruits and nuts, whole grain foods, beans, lentils, and plenty of vegetables. After the second week, you can begin to incorporate other foods into your diet as well.
You can also make your own cranberry juice beverage. To do this, you will need 2 ounces of 100 percent cranberry juice with no added artificial sweeteners or sugar, 8 ounces of distilled water, a teaspoon of apple pectin, and a teaspoon of psyllium husk powder. Drink this mixture when you get up in the morning and about 10 minutes before you have dinner in the evenings.
During this cranberry juice detox diet, try to avoid processed foods and instead stick to vegetables, fruits, nuts and berries, fibrous foods, as well as whole grains. The food items do not have to be organic, although organic foods would yield much better results.
When on this diet, taking 2 capsules of dandelion leaves a couple of times a day can be helpful as well. These are a mild diuretic and can help flush out your system. The psyllium fiber can ensure you have better bowel movements.
After the second week of this cranberry juice detox diet, you can start adding in meats and dairy products. However, you should do it gradually, since sometimes, they can upset your system after you go for awhile without eating them.
If you are pregnant, or have major health concerns, then talking to your health care practitioner about using a cranberry juice detox is preferred. You need to ensure that you are still getting the right amounts of proteins, vitamins, and minerals that you need. For that reason, it is even more important that you eat plenty of nuts and other protein bearing foods, since you will be cutting out meat for two weeks.
Some juice detox diets can lead to side effects, which can include fatigue, low blood sugar, headaches, cramping, diarrhea, constipation, and bad breath. Eating lots of fiber can help with the constipation, and continuing to drink lots of water can prevent dehydration.
