A note about Natural Nausea Remedies - Home Remedies and Treatment for ReliefIn natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases. In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies. Nausea can be caused by illnesses such as diarrhea, vomiting, fever and certain headaches (in which case the headache will have to be treated first); even depression can be accompanied by nausea. Gastroenteritis can cause nausea, as can certain abdominal pain, gallstones, pancreatitis and cancer. With nausea and nausea remedies, getting to the root of the problem is essential. In early pregnancy (use apple cider vinegar or wheat germ - both mixed with honey), the remedy may be different from dealing with the nausea that accompanies problems with the digestive system. This is also true with nausea in the case of being cooped up while traveling, or that which comes with chemotherapy therapy. If sufferers had been overeating or eating certain foods that can cause nausea, it could be as simple as changing the way in which you eat, eliminating the foods that are known to be the culprit, or keeping a journal to find out which foods you may be intolerant to (wheat, yeast or various dairy products). Often, vomiting alleviates this type of nausea. Stress is by far the most common cause of nausea that cannot be attributed to some condition. As with most cases of nausea, it can be treated with a teaspoon of non-carbonated syrup, such as coke syrup, as they contain carbohydrates that have the ability to calm the stomach. This is also true of carbohydrates such as toast and / or crackers. Gingerroot is a good remedy for relieving nausea and can be taken in capsule form or made into a tea. For mild symptoms, even ginger ale or ginger snaps are good as nausea remedies. Other herbs that are used as herbal nausea remedies are slippery elm and red raspberry. Peppermint and chamomile teas are also known for their calming properties, especially concerning the stomach. Peppermint gums can help the taste in the mouth while calming the throat and getting the mind off of being sick. Further, ground cumin seed is good for nausea as well as vomiting. How about dietary and food nausea remedies? A diet rich in fiber is recommended for those who suffer frequent nausea. Eat smaller meals 5 to 6 times a day. Concentrate on fruits and vegetables (raw as these have cleansing properties). If eaten alone, they do not require the enzymes the body provides for breaking down foods (they have their own). Include such foods as papaya, bananas or pineapple if they are in season, or acidophilus (found in yogurt). When you are feeling up to it, incorporate mild proteins into the diet - baked poultry or fish (no red meat, cheeses, processed foods or beans in the beginning). Eliminate foods that are oily / greasy, spicy or fried, as these are all very taxing on the digestive system. This is especially true of processed foods that are full of ingredients meant to stabilize foods for longer shelf life, but can be extremely hard on the stomach when being digested.
