A note about Natural Toothache Relief - Useful Home Remedies and Treatments
In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.
In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.
What they do not understand is that the natural bacteria associated with the mouth will break their sugars down into acids. As these acids combine with the calcium that makes up the enamel, it begins to soften, and this starts the process of decay and / or erosion. As enamel, as well as the second layer of tooth dentin, dissolves, cavities are formed.
For relief from chronic tooth pain which occurs after meals, stir a teaspoon of salt into a glass of water and hold a mouthful over the affected tooth. Do not swallow the water; repeat until all of the mixture is gone.
Ice wrapped in a towel and held against the mouth at the point of infection can ease pain as the cold numbs the nerves. Repeat this toothache relief remedy at bedtime if sleep is interrupted by pain.
Using vanilla extract has been proven to work against toothache, as has almond, which has a higher percent of alcohol.
For quick toothache relief, rinse the mouth with warm water before you try this remedy, then put a dab of maximum strength Sensodyne toothpaste directly on the cavity, leaving it as long as possible. Relief lasts for hours. A half teaspoon of Nyquil swished around the tooth will deliver instant results also, and it is safe.
A mouthwash of tea tree oil (few drops to a glass of water) has been proven to promote toothache relief - just do not swallow the mixture. The oil will be absorbed into the gums, de-sensitizing the nerves of the affected tooth.
A paste made by mixing one teaspoon of cinnamon with five teaspoons of honey can help provide toothache relief if a small amount of the paste is placed directly on the aching tooth. The paste can be used as needed, as can black seed oil, which is also quite effective. It works by soothing the soreness and / or pain with just a small amount of the straight oil rubbed onto the gum surrounding the tooth as well as the tooth itself.
Though most people have heard that aspirin laid directly on the tooth can work quite well, pain relievers with anti-inflammatory properties will work even better. Just use care, as misuse of this type of product can lead to acid burns on the gums.
For an overall aid in tooth problems, mix about three teaspoons of salt into warm water. Swish this around in the mouth every hour or so and after each meal. This will keep the teeth and mouth clean of debris, which could lead to further pain or problems. Echinacea can be used in the same way. Generally known as a cold and / or flu remedy, it also has a long history of aiding in toothaches.
