A Body Cleansing Diet - Important Tips and Elements

These are all the organs responsible for eliminating toxins from the body. By cleansing the accumulated waste and toxins in the body, your body organs can work more efficiently. This applies not just to body cleansing diets, but to your everyday diet as well.

Water is the largest single component in our bodies. It is the primary component in all bodily fluids, such as our blood, saliva, secretions from other glands, spinal fluid and lymph. It is involved in almost every bodily process including digestion, circulation, elimination, cleansing, maintaining acid alkaline balance and transportation of nutrients. It is therefore important to take at least 8 glasses or 2 liters of water daily to support bodily functions.

Indeed, pure water is arguably the most important part of any body cleansing diet.

Juices and Herbal Teas

There are other fluids to take which can complement the action of water in the body. These include fresh fruit and vegetable juices as well as herbal teas. They give the body many essential nutrients, including vitamins, minerals and enzymes, which are important for cleansing and renewal, detoxification and at the same time supporting the body's mechanism in achieving optimal health.

Juices are wonderful energy, immune system and mood boosters and contain nutrients and vitamins for your health and overall well-being. The juices of cucumber, carrots and celery are excellent detoxifiers, while watermelon juice is also an excellent cleanser. Fresh, organic juices are thus another useful addition to body cleansing diets.

Foods and Diet

The other natural way to cleanse your body is through natural foods. The body understands natural compounds better. These natural compounds are found in foods that are in their whole and natural state e.g. fresh fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, extra virgin oils - essentially foods that have not been processed, refined, or "fortified" with added chemicals, preservatives or additives.

Processing and refining of foods removes the vital nutrients that are important for maintaining good health. It thus creates an internal environment that is depleted of essential nutrients and has high toxicity levels. Continuous intake of refined, processed and chemical based foods leads to accumulation of toxins in the body, lowers the body's performance, promotes weight gain, increases susceptibility to disease and generally leads to poor health. Thus, such foods have no place in any health promoting diet, including your body cleansing diet.


The main and most important elements of a body cleansing diet - namely, drinking plenty of water, consuming fresh juices and herbal teas, as well as sticking to natural foods - can go a long way toward helping your body become and stay clean. On top of that, a positive attitude and regular exercise would help, too.
