A note about What is a Hemorrhoid - Overview

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

Hemorrhoids are said to be painful or itching and generally cause discomfort to over half of today’s adults by the time they are 50. This doesn’t mean that hemorrhoids are incurable or a permanent problem. Often, they will go away on their own. There are generally two types of hemorrhoids - there are internal and external hemorrhoids, and their severity may vary.

Often, people don’t think about hemorrhoids unless they have them, but the fact is that this problem is very common, as well as embarrassing. Depending on the severity of hemorrhoids, they have caused people to have surgery to fix them, but often, they will fix themselves. Symptoms can vary, but will often disappear within a few days at the most.

What is a hemorrhoid caused by? Some of the possible causes of hemorrhoids include pregnancy, constant constipation or diarrhea, aging, and the most common is straining too hard to have a bowel movement.

It is a wives tale that sitting on cold concrete will cause hemorrhoids. This cannot cause them, so if you are a frequent cold concrete sitter, you don’t have to worry. Hemorrhoids aren’t caused by things like sitting on cold concrete or anything like that. They are occurrences which happen to lots of people.

What is a hemorrhoids tell-tale signs? Hemorrhoids can often be difficult to spot because they often heal up on their own and only recur occasionally. For this reason, many people who experience itching, burning and discomfort don’t do anything to treat their symptoms, as they disappear within a few days.

In some cases, however, hemorrhoids can be severe and cause extreme discomfort. It is at this time that people may want to consider seeking professional attention for their hemorrhoids.

What is a hemorrhoid that is "internal" in nature? Occasionally, an internal hemorrhoid can come through the anal canal. This is called a prolapsed internal hemorrhoid and, when it is red and inflamed, can be difficult to ease back into the anal canal. This is one type of very painful hemorrhoid that can cause extreme pain and discomfort to the person suffering from it.

In other cases, a blood clot develops in an external hemorrhoid, which will also cause extreme pain. This is called a thrombosed external hemorrhoid. For many of these severe problems, the most common form of treatment is surgery to remove the affected blood vessel. This, however, is usually only necessary in very extreme and painful cases.

What is a hemorrhoids symptoms? For most people who suffer from internal hemorrhoids, the only symptom they will experience is bleeding when they have a bowel movement. They may not even experience any pain or discomfort. On the other hand, many people who suffer from external hemorrhoids may experience bleeding and pain or itching.

If you find that you suffer from hemorrhoids, in most cases, you can ease your symptoms yourself and don’t necessarily need to go to the doctor for them. While hemorrhoids are very common, not many people find that they need to seek medical attention for them, or that their hemorrhoids last for very long.
