A note about Lowering Triglycerides Naturally Through Good Living Habits

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

Indeed, there are. Sometimes, lifestyle changes are enough to lower your triglyceride levels substantially, but vitamins and nutrients can play a significant part as well.

Diet and exercise are two of the most important things that you should focus on when trying to lower your triglycerides naturally. Weight gain and obesity are two of the main culprits that cause high levels, so managing your weight is crucial. It is important to maintain a healthy balance between your height and your weight.

However, it is important not to overdo it, either. For instance, you need dietary fats in order for your body to function properly, so you can't cut them out altogether. However, avoiding "bad fats", such as trans fats, is a good idea. Trans fats can be found in fast food, processed food, and hydrogenated oils, and their intake should be reduced not just in lowering triglycerides, but also in promoting overall health in general.

Healthy fats that you need in your diet can come from olive, canola, and peanut oils. Flax seed oil is particularly healthful. Instead of eating red meat, substitute fish that is high in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon and mackerel.

There are also certain foods that are effective in reducing triglycerides. A diet that is low-fat and high in fiber and includes plenty of fresh fruits, vegetables, and whole grains will help you reduce both your cholesterol and triglyceride levels.

Paying attention to your weight also means getting enough exercise. Exercising for at least 30 minutes a day can help in lowering triglycerides naturally. You don't have to do any strenuous exercise, either. A brisk walk around your block, a quick swim, or even housecleaning can count as exercise. If you don't have time to exercise for 30 minutes at a time, try breaking it up into 10 minutes at a time, 3 times per day.

Further, there are some nutrients that can be helpful in lowering triglyceride levels. Omega 3 fatty acids are important at helping your cardiovascular and nervous systems and can be used for a variety of medical conditions. They can be purchased in supplement form from most health food stores and, along with a healthy diet, can help lower triglyceride levels. In addition, vitamin C supplements might also help, too.

Lastly, a good way of lowering your triglyceride levels is to cease smoking if you are a smoker. Smoking can not only raise your triglyceride levels, but it is also dangerous for your overall health as well and can increase your chances of developing heart disease, stroke, and certain types of cancer.

For the most part, these simple lifestyle and dietary changes should be enough to lower your overall triglyceride levels in a natural way, without the need to take any prescription medication. Eating healthy foods, getting enough exercise, and taking control of your total health can have benefits for your entire body and leave you with more energy, as well as help with lowering triglycerides, without resorting to taking any strong chemicals.
