A note about Sunburn Symptoms

In natural health and healing, we believe in holistic health and healing, as we realize that different parts of the human body are highly interlinked, often beyond Man's understanding. We also believe that the body has the ability to heal itself of any disease, even supposedly incurable diseases.

In order to do so, the body needs the support of some basic dietary and lifestyle good health habits, such as a full body detox and a proper understanding and application of nutrition. No matter how remote or unrelated a health condition may seem, these fundamental health steps will greatly magnify the effects and benefits of any of our health-promoting efforts, including the use of specific natural health remedies.

Degrees of Sunburn

There are different degrees of sunburn. Mild sunburn may only cause slight skin redness and irritation. The skin may also become warm and tender. This is somewhat akin to a "first degree burn".

With increased sun exposure, moderate sunburn may then result. This kind of second degree sunburn is more serious, and may include pain, swelling and blisters in addition to skin reddening. This is quite a bad sunburn.

Severe sunburn, which is akin to a "third degree burn", always shows blisters and usually would include damage to deeper tissue, for example the skin may turn purplish. There may be large blisters with pus and scarring may also result. In addition, the person may develop a headache, chills, flu-like symptoms, nausea, and / or a fever.

Skin Peeling

Usually, after several days, your skin will start to peel or fall off. This is a sign of healing. Sometimes, I begin “peeling” the very next day after being sunburned.

Sunburn Blisters

Sunburn blisters may range from being very fine and only visible as you begin to “peel”, to being very large ones which are filled with water or pus. The skin below may be red and tender.

Area of Sunburn

As is commonsensical, the symptoms of sunburn would tend to be worse when the affected skin area is larger. The larger the sunburned area, the higher the chances of developing more serious sunburn symptoms such as a headache, chills, flu-like symptoms, nausea, fever and fatigue

Very Severe Sunburn

If there is very severe sunburn, dehydration, infection, shock and even death may result. You should be getting out of the sun way before you get close to that stage!

Conclusion

Sunburn, like all other burns, obviously hurts. At the very least, such sunburn pain would be irritating. Repeated sunburn also increases your risk of getting skin cancer.

It would thus be sensible to undertake measures at sunburn prevention . If you are already suffering the effects of sunburn, you may want to consider using some suggested natural methods and remedies for sunburn relief.
